New Year’s Day 2025: Known by God, Ordered by Heaven

As we rise on New Year’s Day 2025, we give honor to God, who has watched over us through another year and, by His grace, has allowed us to see the breaking of a new one. Down here in the South, we understand that every new year is a blessing, and every new morning is proof that God is not finished with us yet.

The life and calling of Prophet H. C. Lockhart remind us that God does His best work long before anybody else sees it. Prophet Lockhart was born on January 4, 1946, on a cold morning in Talbot, Georgia, in an eight-room hospital with no running water and no plumbing. But even in humble conditions, heaven was still in control. What the world might overlook, God had already ordained.

The Word of God declares in Jeremiah 1:4–5,
“Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”

That scripture did not just live on the page, it lived itself out. On August 5, 1965, in Atlanta, Georgia, the ministry of Prophet H. C. Lockhart was officially birthed, right on time, just as God had spoken it years before.

As we step into 2025, let us be reminded that our beginning does not determine our ending. Where we start does not cancel what God has already spoken. If God ordained it, He will bring it to pass.

A New Year’s Prayer

Gracious and Eternal God,
We thank You for waking us up and carrying us into this new year. Thank You for keeping us when danger was seen and unseen. As we walk into 2025, we ask that You order our steps, steady our hearts, and sharpen our ears to hear Your voice. Bless Your servant, strengthen the prophetic work, and let Your will be done in this generation. Help us to trust You like never before, walk humbly before You, and move boldly in what You have already ordained. We give You the glory, the honor, and the praise. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
