The Holy Family as Refugees in a foreign land.

Words of Wisdom from the 21st Century Prophet, Rev. H.C. Lockhart

The Holy Family as Refugees/Illegal Immigrant

In the heart of Bethlehem, ‘neath the looming shadow of a less-than-pleasant ruler, a young family found themselves on a treacherous journey. Mary cradled the newborn Jesus, and Joseph guided them away from Herod’s ominous threat. Seeking refuge in Egypt, they traveled with hopes of sanctuary.

As they wandered, much like modern families facing persecution, they encountered both welcoming souls and closed doors. In the village, where strangers embraced them, the warmth of humanity shone through, reminiscent of the kindness needed in the immigration crisis of today.

Yet, like a tale spun from the annals of time, there were those who shut their doors on the Holy Family, forcing Mary and Joseph to find shelter in humble surroundings. Mary, heavy with child, faced the pangs of labor in the stark simplicity of a manger, a scene etched with echoes of vulnerability and the unpredictability of life.

In the midst of struggles, Jesus and Mary shared the plight of the displaced, their journey a canvas painting empathy and understanding for us all. Just as the couple leaned on divine guidance, so do we, grappling with the complexities of contemporary immigration policies.

In this narrative, reminiscent of both the sacred and the everyday, we witness the power of compassion and hospitality. Egypt, a symbol of refuge, welcomed the Holy Family, highlighting the timeless need for nations to embrace a culture of understanding and kindness.

This story, adorned with the hardships faced and the unwavering hope born in a humble manger, beckons us to respond with the love and compassion encapsulated in the teachings of Jesus and Mary. It is a call to see the holy in our neighbors, to open doors when others close, and to advocate for just and humane solutions to the challenges faced by those seeking refuge.

Pray with me for our Southern Border

21st Century Prophet Rev. Lockhart

Heavenly Father, we come before you with heavy hearts, seeking your guidance and mercy in the midst of the challenges we face regarding illegal immigration and border security. We lift up to you the individuals and families who are affected by these issues, asking for your protection, comfort, and provision.

Lord, we recognize the complexity of the situation and the need for wisdom in finding just and compassionate solutions. Grant our leaders discernment as they navigate the intricacies of immigration policies and border security measures. May they be guided by your principles of justice, mercy, and love.

We pray for those who are forced to flee their homes in search of safety and opportunity. Give them strength and resilience in their journeys, and may they find open hearts and helping hands along the way. Help us, as a nation, to extend compassion and hospitality to those in need, just as you have shown us your boundless grace.

Lord Jesus, you were once a refugee, seeking shelter with Mary and Joseph in Egypt. We ask for your presence and protection over those who are vulnerable and in need of refuge today. May we, as a society, reflect your love and compassion in our responses to the challenges of immigration.

Grant us the grace to work together towards solutions that uphold human dignity, respect the rule of law, and ensure the safety and well-being of all. May your Spirit inspire unity, understanding, and empathy among us, fostering a spirit of cooperation and collaboration.

Lord, we entrust this crisis into your hands, knowing that you are a God of justice and mercy. Guide us in the ways of righteousness, and may our actions and policies be a reflection of your love for every person, regardless of their background or circumstances.

In the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior, we pray. Amen.

Let’s pray for our Nation’s next leader.

Heavenly Father,

As our nation stands at the threshold of a new chapter, We lift our hearts in prayer for the next leader. Guide and inspire the one who will take the helm, Grant them wisdom, courage, and overwhelming calm.

May they seek Your guidance in every decision, Rooted in principles that reflect Your vision. Grant them discernment to lead with grace, In service to all, for every race.

May compassion be their guiding light, Fueled by a spirit of justice, pure and bright. Give them strength to stand against the tide, And in Your love, let them confide.

Grant our leader humility to admit when wrong, And the fortitude to stand steadfast and strong. In times of challenge and moments of grace, May they turn to You, seeking Your face.

Surround them with advisors of integrity, Seeking the common good with sincerity. Protect their health, both body and soul, As they strive to fulfill their noble role.

May their leadership inspire unity, Fostering peace and community. Lord, bless the next president with Your favor, And may they lead with Your unwavering behavior.

In Jesus’ name, we place our hope and trust, As we pray for the leader You deem just. May Your will be done in every decree, For the good of our nation, and all humanity.

Amen.

Let’s pray for the people of Israel and Gaza

Heavenly Father, in our plea for peace, we specifically lift the cries of those in Israel and Palestine. Bring an end to the war and violence that have plagued these lands for too many years. Soften hearts, extinguish hatred, and replace it with a longing for reconciliation. We pray for leaders to be guided by Your wisdom in seeking peaceful resolutions. May the wounds of conflict be healed, and may the people of Israel and Palestine find a shared path towards lasting peace. In Your mercy, hear our prayer. Amen.

Help me with this prayer. Because as the good book states in Matthew 18:19
19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

Swept Away

I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist.

Isaiah 44:22

When he invented the pencil eraser, British engineer Edward Nairne was reaching instead for a piece of bread. Crusts of bread were used then, in 1770, to erase marks on paper. Picking up a piece of latex rubber by mistake, Nairne found it erased his error, leaving rubberized “crumbs” easily swept away by hand.

With us too the worst errors of our lives can be swept away. It’s the Lord—the Bread of Life—who cleans them with His own life, promising never to remember our sins. “I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake,” says Isaiah 43:25, “and remembers your sins no more.”

This can seem to be a remarkable fix—and not deserved. For many, it’s hard to believe our past sins can be swept away by God “like the morning mist.” Does God, who knows everything, forget them so easily?

That’s exactly what God does when we accept Jesus as our Savior. Choosing to forgive our sins and to “[remember them] no more,” our heavenly Father frees us to move forward. No longer dragged down by past wrongs, we’re free of debris and cleaned up to serve, now and forever.

Yes, consequences may remain. But God sweeps sin itself away, inviting us to return to Him for our clean new life. There’s no better way to be swept away.

You can be close to God

  • Follow his directions – Proverbs 3:5,6

Who is God?

Many people say that they believe in God.  But ask who God is, and you will get different answers.  To some, God is harsh judge, bent on punishing people for their misdeeds.  To others, he is always loving and forgiving, no matter what they do.  Still others believe that God is far away and disinterested in us.  Given such conflicting views, many may feel that it is simply impossible to know who God is.

Does it matter?  Yes, it does.  Knowing God better can add purpose and meaning to your life.  (Acts 17:26-28)  The closer you draw to God, the more he will love and help you.  (James 4:8)  Ultimately, having accurate knowledge of God can lead to un-ending life. – John 17:3.

How you can come to know God?  Think of someone you know well, such as close friend.  How did that friendship develop?  Likely you got to know that person’s name, personality, likes and dislikes, as well as what he or she has done and plans to do, and more.  This is what drew you to that person – you learned about him or her.

Similarly, we can come to know God by considering the following:

  • What is God’s name?
  • What is he like?
  • What has God done?
  • What will God do?
  • What can knowing God mean for you?

Rev. H.C. Lockhart will provide prophetic and Bible answers to these questions and many more.  The 21st Century Prophet will help you learnt not only who God is but also what is in store for you as you come into a personal relationship with him.
